Corbett Le Quesne has announced that Jersey Cheshire Home has been selected as their Charity of the Year for 2026.

Jersey Cheshire Home is the only facility on island supporting islanders with physical disabilities. As such you can imagine how important it is; but do you know the value of that assistance? Jersey Cheshire Home has 32 rooms and it costs.£3.2 million a year to run its essential services. The home provides 24/7 specialist nursing care, and has the support of some amazing volunteers, helping with outings, quizzes and games afternoons. Residents have the use of a hydrotherapy pool and a gym with specialist equipment. There is often live music at the home and special themed fun days.

Donna Abel, CEO of Jersey Cheshire Home said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been chosen as Charity of the Year for 2026. The support of Barbara and the team at Corbett Le Quesne means so much to us and will make a real difference in helping Jersey Cheshire Home continue to enhance the lives of disabled islanders.”

In July 2025 Advocate Barbara Corbett joined the charity’s Foundation Committee. Barbara said: “I am especially delighted that we have chosen Jersey Cheshire Home this year as I have seen first-hand the amazing work they do and what a truly lovely and caring charity it is. The staff and volunteers already do an amazing job but they need more resources to meet increasing demand. If you can support any of the events coming up this year that would be greatly appreciated.”
