Condor has scheduled an additional 28 direct sailings between Guernsey and St Malo this summer compared with last year and improved the timetable around weekends to support the inbound visitor market from France and offer greater opportunities for islanders.
The changes will see daily services operate throughout the school summer holidays and the extra sailings added on Friday and Monday afternoons from last weekend through to the end of September. The total number of direct departures offered on the St Malo route this year is 224 compared with 196 in 2018.
Paul Luxon, Condor Ferries’ CEO, said the move demonstrated the company’s commitment to promoting the Bailiwick and providing options for islanders.
“Tourism is so important to the Islands that we spend £1.5 million each year marketing in the UK and continental Europe so work closely with our trade partners and Visit Guernsey.’
“It is not easy to accommodate additional sailings in an already busy summer timetable so we hope these will prove popular and a sustainable part of our schedule. The departures around weekends provide excellent short break opportunities to and from St Malo and these improvements show Condor’s continued investment in the visitor economy and providing travel choices for residents,” he added.
The summer schedule is valid from 29 March through to 31 October. Fares start at £34 each way for a foot passenger and £60 per person each way for a standard car and two passengers.
