Collas Crill has appointed two new associates, Daisy Bovingdon and Courtney Clelland, to its growing dispute resolution team in Jersey.

Following a highly successful 2017 for the dispute resolution team, which also saw the firm move into St Helier’s landmark Gaspé House, these appointments reflect the ongoing growth in activity seen through 2018.

Daisy’s practice focuses on commercial disputes involving issues of contract and trust law.

With a background in Scottish law, Daisy was previously based in Edinburgh, where she pursued funded litigation and also gained experience in intellectual property and professional negligence disputes.

Daisy graduated with LLB Honours (First Class) from the University of Strathclyde in 2010, which involved a period of study at the London School of Economics. She then completed her Diploma in Legal Practice at the University of Edinburgh before working for the Judicial Institute for Scotland prior to her traineeship, and qualified as a solicitor in 2015. Daisy has a background in music, and holds a BA Honours from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Daisy’s experience includes advising clients on cross-border issues, both intra-UK and internationally. She has also advised a major accountancy group on the contentious aspects of a long-running and complex administration.

Courtney has a broad litigation practice, undertaking a wide range of both civil and commercial matters, with particular emphasis on banking/funds, trusts, insolvency and public law sectors.

She qualified as a Scottish solicitor in 2015, having obtained an LLB (Hons) Law Degree from the University of Dundee and her Diploma in Legal Practice from the University of Glasgow.

Prior to joining Collas Crill, Courtney worked at a leading UK law firm in Edinburgh and is a member of the Law Society of Scotland.

Partner Damian James, who heads up the Jersey dispute resolution team, said: “We are delighted to welcome Daisy and Courtney to the team.

“This is an exciting period of growth for us, and the skills that both bring to the firm will complement and strengthen the existing expertise within the team. We are focused on delivering an exceptional service to our clients and these appointments are a testament to that commitment.”
