Collas Crill has announced the results of its annual promotions round for 2020, with the group making a number of promotions across jurisdictions, including both lawyers and the business services team.
In the Channel Islands’ offices, two of the firm’s senior associates, James Tee and Sam Williams, are promoted to of counsel. James has been with Collas Crill since 2006 and works within the Guernsey dispute resolution team. He is known to be the firm’s first port of call for all matters relating to Guernsey Court processes and procedures.
Sam is based in Jersey and joined the firm in 2016 after relocating to Jersey in 2012. His primary area of work is also within the dispute resolution department. Alongside client work, he also contributes to the STEP Contentious Trusts Forum and is a highly regarded litigator.
Rocco Cecere is promoted to partner, having joined the firm as counsel in early 2019. Working within the Cayman dispute resolution department he is considered a leader in his field. Also promoted in the Cayman office is Rupert Stanning to senior associate, having developed into an ‘outstanding lawyer’ since joining the firm three years ago.
The firm’s BVI office is now led by Ian Montgomery following his promotion to local managing partner. Ian is also head of the jurisdiction’s corporate finance and funds team, and under his direction is Christian Hidalgo who is promoted to senior associate. Christian has been in the firm’s BVI office since the end of 2018, having qualified as a solicitor in Scotland four years prior, and is described as ‘instrumental’ in growing the BVI CFF practice.
Staff promoted within the business services team include: Shania Herpe, Amanda Marett and Karen Kaulesar.
Jason Romer (pictured), group managing partner, commented: “The success of Collas Crill is all down to the hard work, dedication and expertise of our people. Those who have been promoted have demonstrated a clear passion for the jobs they do, and that they are entirely ready for the next step in their career.
