This weekend Citizens Advice Jersey celebrates its 40th Anniversary with a tea party at Government House.
The event will be attended by past and present volunteers, Board members and staff as well as local supporters and funders, and colleagues from the United Kingdom and Guernsey.
There is also a special message from Martin Lewis, the Money Saving Expert, who has always been a strong supporter of Citizens Advice nationally and he offers his birthday wishes in his own inimitable style via a pre-recorded message.
Malcolm Ferey, The Chief Executive of Citizens Advice Jersey said: “The service started locally from humble beginnings back in 1978 to grow into the vital part of Island life that it has become and, over the decades, the demand for our service has grown enormously. A tally of our records shows that we have given advice on just under half a million occasions over the last 40 years.”
Kate Jeggo, Chair of Citizens Advice Jersey said: “We are extremely grateful to Air Chief Marshal Sir Stephen & Lady Dalton for allowing us the use of Government House Gardens & Marquee to host this landmark event.”
