Holidaymakers planning their next trip can now search for airlines based on their hygiene and cleanliness ratings.
Skyscanner has become the first price comparison travel site to rate airlines according to their health and safety measures in the wake of Covid-19. Travellers will be able to see individual airlines scored for whether face masks are mandatory, planes are deep cleaned daily, flight crew are wearing PPE, if passenger sanitation packs provided, and any changes to food service.
‘The airline ratings mean that travellers searching on Skyscanner can easily get a sense of what the flying and travel experience will be like when they are planning and booking on our site,’ Jon Thorne, Traveller Expert for Skyscanner commented.
‘Health and safety are obviously high on the priority list for those looking to get away and these ratings provide an extra layer of clarity and peace of mind for Skyscanner customers, as well as enabling airlines to explain their on-board procedures in a straightforward way.’
According to a recent survey of over 2,200, conducted by the website, 44% of travelers now prioritise superior hygiene and cleanliness levels when considering travel. Sky scanner also recently launched hotel cleanliness ratings and flexible policy filters.
