Channel Islands winners revealed at Citywealth Magic Circle Awards 2026

Recognised for their excellence in the private wealth sector, the Channel Islands were again recipient of a number of awards at the Citywealth Magic Circle Awards that took place in London on 13th May.

The awards, now in their twentieth year, and regarded as the Oscars of the finance world, recognise the best wealth managers and advisors, as well as companies, in the private wealth industry, and in particular those who invest money with charities, private families and foundations.

British politician the Rt Hon Lord Brady of Altrincham hosted the evening. Lord Brady served as the MP for Altrincham and Sale West from 1997 to 2024 and was the chairman of the 1922 Committee from 2010 to 2024. His speech included some fascinating insights about the current political turmoil shaking the House of Commons.

During the evening funds were raised for Magic Breakfast – a charity that delivers free breakfasts every morning to underprivileged school children. Over £7,000 were raised through the sale of raffle tickets alone for this very worthwhile charity.

Philip Carlton (pictured), Private Client Director at fiduciary and fund services company Highvern in Jersey, was the winner of the Trustee of the Year award. Philip has over 4 decades of experience as a trustee in both Jersey and the UK and works as an advisor to predominantly Middle Eastern ultra-high networth individuals.

A number of companies based in the Channel Islands were also recognised for their excellence.

Stonehage Fleming was the winner in the Family Office Services category while JTC Private Office was the runner up. JTC Group collected the Trust Company of the Year award as a runner up.

Karen Jones, founder, CEO and editor of Citywealth, commented on the awards: “The world has thrown us a curve ball this year, with the conflict involving Iran and the daily headlines surrounding American and British politics creating significant uncertainty. We have seen widespread UHNW mobility as individuals and families look to pastures new, but the question remains whether the grass has in fact been greener elsewhere.

“The return of more than 30,000 Britons from Dubai, alongside 6,600 Americans applying for UK ancestry visas, has reshaped the global landscape and once again placed tax firmly in the spotlight, this time alongside immigration. Whatever curve ball the industry faces, Citywealth is proud to see advisers and professionals continue to step up to the challenge. This year we are also celebrating the growing importance of tax planning, alongside the outstanding shortlist and winners of the 2026 Citywealth Magic Circle”
