Carey Olsen and Suntera Global have advised and supported MS Pay on securing its registration as a Virtual Asset Service Provider with the Jersey Financial Services Commission.

MS Pay is a global digital asset and payments platform processing over US$5 billion annually across more than 40 currencies.

Carey Olsen provided legal and regulatory advice to MS Pay throughout the application process, while Suntera Global supported with regulatory, compliance, and operational expertise.

The Carey Olsen team was led by partner Chris Griffin (pictured), assisted by associates Vera Cai and Tshogofatso Dhlamini.

Chris Griffin commented: “It was a pleasure working with the MS Pay team to establish their Jersey presence and achieve this important milestone. Their decision to set up here is yet another example of Jersey’s compelling VASP offering and reinforces Jersey’s position as a trusted and forward-thinking jurisdiction for digital asset businesses seeking robust oversight and international credibility.

“The registration also marks a significant step in MS Pay’s global expansion and mission to build the institutional rails for the digital asset economy – serving as a regulated bridge between stablecoins and the global FX markets.”

Carlos Delgado, co-founder and CEO of MS Pay, commented: “Securing our VASP registration in Jersey is another major milestone in MS Pay’s global expansion. Jersey’s respected regulatory framework provides the perfect foundation as we scale further into Europe and beyond.

“We are grateful for the expert guidance of Carey Olsen and the regulatory and operational support of Suntera Global throughout this process. Together, we are building the institutional rails for the digital asset economy – a regulated bridge between stablecoins and the global FX markets – combining licensed fiat access with blockchain settlement to redefine how money moves across borders.”

Ryan Taylor, director at Suntera Global, added: “As a jurisdiction, and following the publication last year by the financial services regulator of enhanced regulatory guidance around digital assets, Jersey remains focused on creating a forward-thinking, pragmatic ecosystem for virtual assets work. Working with MS Pay and Carey Olsen on this particular project has been engaging and collaborative throughout the relationship. We are delighted that the application for registration has been approved and are excited to continue working with the team on their Jersey venture.”
