
People Advisor
Skipton International is seeking a proactive and people-focused People Advisor to join our dynamic People team based in Guernsey or Jersey.
This is a pivotal role supporting the full employee lifecycle and contributing to the delivery of our People strategy. You will work closely with the Chief People Officer and People Business Partners to provide expert advice, drive employee engagement, and support the development of a high-performing, values-led culture.
This role offers the opportunity to make a real impact across the organisation, with occasional travel between islands required.
Key Accountabilities
- Provide first-line expert advice and guidance to managers and colleagues on a wide range of HR matters including performance, conduct, absence, recruitment, and employee relations.
- Support the full employee lifecycle, including onboarding, changes, and leavers, ensuring a seamless and compliant process.
- Assist in the development and implementation of People frameworks, policies, and procedures aligned with business goals.
- Contribute to the design and delivery of learning and development programmes, including training needs analysis.
- Support recruitment campaigns, including job advertising, candidate sourcing, and onboarding.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records for People-related meetings and case management.
- Collaborate with the People Operations team on transactional HR activities and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Provide administrative support to the Chief People Officer and People Business Partners as required.
Requirements
Essential:
- CIPD Level 3 or equivalent qualification in Human Resource Management.
- Experience working in a People/HR team with exposure to the full employee lifecycle.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to coach and influence stakeholders.
- Knowledge of generalist HR practices and employment legislation.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and build effective relationships across all levels.
Desirable:
- CIPD Level 5 or equivalent qualification.
- Experience in HR advisory roles, particularly within financial services.
- Familiarity with HR systems and process improvement methodologies.
