Mortgage Sales Manager

Skipton International is seeking a dynamic and results-driven Mortgage Sales Manager to lead our Guernsey-based sales team.

Reporting to the Senior Mortgage Sales Manager, this role is pivotal in driving new mortgage business, managing broker relationships, and enhancing our presence in the Guernsey and UK markets.

You will be responsible for leading a high-performing team, delivering exceptional customer service, and contributing to the strategic growth of our mortgage portfolio.

Key Accountabilities

Mortgage Sales & Business Development

  • Drive acquisition of profitable new mortgage customers through direct and broker channels.
  • Manage and develop relationships with brokers, ensuring high service standards and business growth.
  • Lead onboarding and training for new brokers and intermediaries.
  • Conduct customer meetings, assess borrowing capacity, and secure new business.
  • Provide feedback to enhance products and services in line with strategic goals.

Leadership & Team Management

  • Lead and inspire the Guernsey mortgage sales team, fostering a high-performance culture.
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and support professional development.
  • Promote and model Skipton’s values and behaviours across the team.

Customer Experience & Strategy

  • Ensure excellent customer outcomes and service delivery.
  • Capture and analyse customer insights to inform strategy and improve service.
  • Support initiatives to enhance Skipton’s brand visibility and reputation.

Operational Excellence & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies.
  • Maintain data integrity and uphold IT security standards.
  • Continuously review and improve sales processes and controls.

Change & Knowledge Management

  • Embrace and lead change initiatives to drive performance.
  • Support strategic projects and cross-functional collaboration within the Skipton Group.

Requirements

Essential Qualifications & Experience

  • CeMAP Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a regulated mortgage environment.
  • Proven track record in mortgage sales or advisory roles.
  • Experience managing or mentoring a team.

Skills & Competencies

  • Strong understanding of mortgage regulations, compliance, and market trends.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship management skills.
  • Proficiency in mortgage platforms and digital tools.
  • Commercial acumen and strategic thinking.

Desirable Knowledge

  • Familiarity with UK and Guernsey property markets and conveyancing processes.
  • Understanding of Financial Services legislation in both jurisdictions.
  • Experience with LCF Guernsey requirements.
