Last Friday, 11 members of the Guernsey-based Babbé team headed to the HUB’s offices in the Bordage to support the Youth Commission for Guernsey and Alderney.
The team, led by two of the firms’ partners, Nick Robison and Nick Donnithorne along with practice manager Chris Rolf, painted one of the counselling rooms in the HUB to give it a well-deserved refresh. These rooms are essential for the work the HUB does day-to-day being used primarily for consultations and counselling.
Babbé have chosen to support the Youth Commission due to the exceptional service they provide for the island’s community. Earlier this year Babbé employees chose the Youth Commission as the beneficiary of funds raised by taking part in the Hel(I)vita challenge and the firm has subsequently decided to continue to support this vital charity with further volunteering and fundraising.
The HUB’s services are available to anyone under 18 years. The HUB provides a safe place where people under 18 can speak to trained staff and volunteers about anything and everything going on in their lives.
Nick Robison said: “We have been planning this day for some time as we wanted to support a cause that we believe our organisation could make a meaningful impact to. The Youth commission have a very important role in addressing the issues that children and young people are faced with in Guernsey, and we feel inspired by the work they do and are so happy to have been able to help.”
Charlie Cox, The HUB’s CEO, said: “Babbé’s support is very welcome. We are always grateful to organisations who volunteer time and energy to support our work and we are looking forward to collaborating with Babbé on more exciting projects that will benefit the young people of Guernsey and Alderney.”
