Employees at Brooks Macdonald International in Jersey, Guernsey and the Isle of Man worked together to raise in excess of £37,000 for more than 20 local and international charities over the course of 2022.
The fundraising activities included the firm’s flagship Golf Day in Jersey at The Royal Jersey Golf Club and, with the support of a number of corporate teams, raised more than £21,000 to support Cancer Research UK (Jersey) and its critical research to help combat cancer.
Other fundraising activities over the year saw members of the team in Jersey swim from Jersey to France, compete in a static cycling competition and take part in the Grace Crocker Foundation ‘Jersey to Southampton’ walk.
Meanwhile, the team in Guernsey held an event for women in aid of Safer Guernsey and completed the ‘30 Bays in 30 Days’ challenge, while the team in the Isle of Man raised money for Manx Breast Cancer Support and Isle of Play. Employees across all islands also helped raise money to support relief efforts in Ukraine.
The charitable initiatives supported by the firm are chosen each month and driven by employees, supporting a broad cross section of community causes in all three islands that are close to employees’ hearts.
Richard Hughes, CEO of Brooks Macdonald International, commented: “Our teams across all three islands continue to show real passion for raising vital funds for a diverse range of causes and I’m so pleased that they’ve been able to raise such a good sum over the year. Our flagship Golf Day in Jersey in particular succeeded in raising a considerable amount once again to help fund the vital work of Cancer Research UK. I’m looking forward to seeing how the efforts of our people continue to make such a positive contribution as we move into 2023.”
Charities benefitting from these fundraising efforts included: Healing Waves, Grace Crocker Foundation, Jersey Swimarathon, Ukraine Relief Fund, Manx Breast Cancer Support, Safer Guernsey, Jersey SCBU and Robin Ward, Durrell, RNLI, Jersey Hospice, Les Bourgs Hospice, EyeCan, Dementia Jersey, Cancer Research UK (Jersey), Isle of Play – IoM, the Shelter Trust, Macmillan Jersey, Embrace Ability.
