Bowel Cancer Guernsey is inviting islanders to once again wear their boldest tie or scarf for Loud Tie Day 2025 on Friday 31st January.
The local charity aims to increase awareness of bowel cancer and to continue raising vital funds to aid its crucial work within the community through this annual initiative.
To show their support for the charity, islanders are encouraged to sport their brightest neckwear, whether that be in the workplace, schools or within the community. Donations made to Bowel Cancer Guernsey will contribute directly to supporting the charity’s endeavours.
Islanders are also invited to the charity’s Fibre Friday Porridge Giveaway at the Liberation monument by North Beach Car Park from 7.30am on Friday 31st January.
Anne Brouard, Chair for Bowel Cancer Guernsey, said: “Loud Tie Day highlights the importance of understanding bowel cancer and its impact. By raising awareness, we hope more people will recognise the symptoms and seek help early, which can make a real difference.
“We’re grateful to everyone supporting the campaign and can’t wait to see the vibrant ties and scarves people wear to show their support.”
To mark the occasion, the Bowel Cancer Guernsey team will also be hosting a flag day at Marks & Spencer at L’Islet and St Martins and Waitrose at Admiral Park on Saturday 25th January with buckets and card machines available for donations.
Key supporters, Oak Group will be taking part once again this year.
Anna Sauvarin, Chief People Officer at the fund administration and corporate and private client services firm, said: “We are proud to support Loud Tie Day and help raise awareness about bowel cancer. Initiatives like this play a vital role in encouraging conversations around early detection and prevention. It’s inspiring to see the community come together, and we’re excited to contribute to such an impactful cause.”
