Bowel Cancer Guernsey’s Loud Tie Day returns for 2026

Bowel Cancer Guernsey is inviting islanders to don their boldest tie or scarf for its annual Loud Tie Day on Friday 30 January.

Through this initiative, the charity aims to increase awareness of bowel cancer whilst raising funds to support its work within the community. Donations made to Bowel Cancer Guernsey will contribute directly to supporting the charity’s endeavours.

This year, Nourish will be supporting by creating a ‘Bowel Cancer Bowl’ full of ingredients that support bowel health. 10% of all proceeds from this bowl, purchased during the week commencing 26 January 2026, will be donated to Bowel Cancer Guernsey.

On Friday 30 January 2026, anyone who makes any purchase at Nourish whilst wearing a loud tie will receive 10% off their order.

Francesca McDermott, Director of Bowel Cancer Guernsey, said: ‘Loud Tie Day is a fun and eye-catching way to bring our community together for an important cause. By raising awareness of bowel cancer and its symptoms, we hope more people will recognise the signs and seek help early.

“We’re so thankful to everyone taking part and can’t wait to see the everyone in their bright ties and scarves.”

To mark the occasion, the Bowel Cancer Guernsey team will also host a flag day at Marks & Spencer at L’Islet and St Martins and Waitrose at Admiral Park on Saturday 24 January. Volunteers will have buckets and card machines available for donations.

Chris Robert, Nourish, said: “We’re really pleased to be supporting Loud Tie Day and to be working with Bowel Cancer Guernsey on something a bit different. We’ve already been thinking about ideas for the Bowel Cancer Bowl and how we can make it both tasty and supportive of bowel health. It’s a brilliant campaign, and we’re looking forward to helping raise awareness in a positive, practical way.”
