Bowel Cancer Guernsey is once again encouraging islanders to don their loudest tie or scarf on Friday 27th January for Loud Tie Day 2023.
The charity’s much-loved campaign aims to raise awareness of bowel cancer and generate funds to support its vital work in the community. The community is encouraged to support the cause by wearing their most colourful neckwear and donating to the charity.
Anne Brouard, spokesperson for Bowel Cancer Guernsey, said: “We are thrilled to host Loud Tie Day again this year. This event brings the whole community together for a bit of fun, but it also helps to raise awareness for a disease that can affect anyone. The impact of Loud Tie Day can save lives. It’s an event which spreads the message about understanding the risks, symptoms and early treatment of bowel cancer, and we are grateful to all who get involved.”
The charity hopes to continue to reach as many people as possible and encourages workplaces, schools and the whole community to help make an impact this year.
Design and advertising agency, Two Degrees North, works with Bowel Cancer Guernsey throughout the year with design and website support and will continue its support by getting involved with Loud Tie Day.
Chris Griffiths, Creative Director at Two Degrees North, said: “The impact that Bowel Cancer Guernsey has on the community is vital and at Two Degrees North, we are proud to support in any way that we can. We know from personal experience how much bowel cancer can affect the lives of those with the illness as well as the family and friends who are touched by it, and we hope that our contributions help to raise awareness.”
Anne added: ‘Have a good rummage in your wardrobe or browse the charity shops to find a colourful tie or scarf and get involved!’
