Blue Islands has been awarded contracts with tour operators to provide charter services to the Channel Islands from Zurich, Rotterdam, Groningen and cities across Germany.
Enabling more European visitors to discover the islands, these partnerships are vital for supporting local tourism, said Blue Islands CEO Rob Veron.
‘Partnering with specialist tour operators focused on niche markets such as Guernsey and Jersey is essential to the prosperity of our islands. As a local airline, Blue Islands is committed to the continued reinvigoration of our visitor economies and we once again look forward to welcoming guests on week-long stays to truly discover our beautiful islands.’
For a 12th year, Blue Islands will partner with tour operator Rolf Meier Reisen to fly guests from Zurich. The charter service for 2020 will run every Saturday for a 20-week period, between 2 May and 12 September. Visitors from Rotterdam will be arriving on Sundays between 26 April and 6 September and, after a successful Groningen charter service to Guernsey in 2019, an extended run is planned for next summer.
The renewed partnership comes after Blue Islands’ recent announcement of a new charter service with Globalis, flying visitors from Germany to Guernsey and Jersey between 18 April and 21 June next year.
‘Having partnered with Globalis to provide charter flights from 22 airports across Germany to Jersey in 2019, Blue Islands is proud to have once again been selected by Globalis to operate the expanded programme for 2020,’ said Mr Veron.
‘Furthermore, we are delighted to see this operation now include holidays in both Guernsey and Jersey.’
