Blue Islands has opened applications for its latest round of flight funding, providing Channel Islanders with the chance to chase ambitions, showcase talents and unlock opportunities that may not be possible without travel support.
Launched in 2019, flight funding has provided over 500 flights for island-based charities, organisations and individuals to travel for sporting competitions, training, performances and more. The aim is simple – to give access to experiences and opportunities that will have a positive impact and enrich the lives of islanders.
Blue Islands CEO, Rob Veron said: “Flight funding is one of the most rewarding things we do. We see countless inspiring stories of islanders doing incredible things – from island athletes competing on the national stage to local charities making a big difference in our communities. These achievements not only enrich lives but also strengthen the unique sense of place that makes our islands so special.
“We’ve supported many individuals including Archie Greier (snooker), Grace Greenwood (para-athlete) and Hannah Silcock (table tennis), groups such as Essential Dance and Guernsey Air Cadets, plus amazing charities including Channel Island Air Search, Healing Waves, Family First and Brighter Futures. We’re excited to see the next round of applications, and helping to support Channel Islanders whether it’s sport, art, enrichment or development.”
