NatWest International is supporting Blue Diamond, the largest garden centre group in the UK and Channel Islands, to continue its growth by refinancing and increasing its banking facilities.
Acting as Lead Arranger, Lender and Security Agent, NatWest International – part of RBS International – has provided a £100 million financing facility to Blue Diamond, with the total transaction being split equally with Barclays.
Based in Guernsey with 50 garden centres across the UK and Channel Islands, Blue Diamond is one of RBS International’s longest standing customers and is now looking towards the next stage of growth, with this £100 million funding helping to finance working capital and acquisitions.
Lynn Whitworth (pictured), Head of Corporate & Commercial Banking in Guernsey for RBS International, said: “It’s a pleasure to support the continued growth of this well-established Guernsey-headquartered business which has been part of the community for many years. The bank’s relationship with Blue Diamond can be traced back to their origin and the recent refinancing reflects our ongoing commitment to help businesses thrive and expand.”
Neil McDonald, Group Finance Director, Blue Diamond said: “Blue Diamond has worked with RBS International for many years and the team has always been pragmatic and easy to deal with. We’re delighted to put this new facility in place which will help us deliver our strategy as we continue to grow.”
The team at NatWest International looks forward to continuing its successful relationship with Blue Diamond as they look to acquire further sites and expand their 5,000 strong workforce.
