Better Business Grant supports warehouse upgrade at SunWorks
Share on LinkedInTwitterFacebookEmail

SunWorks has completed a major upgrade of its warehouse facility in St Helier following an investment supported by the Jersey Business Better Business Grant.

The project, which received funding covering 50% of eligible costs, has increased storage capacity and reconfigured the company’s warehouse and logistics operation.

Work began after the business identified limitations within its existing North Street premises. Rather than relocate, SunWorks opted to redevelop the site, with the project delivered in partnership with D2 Real Estate, JSL Architecture and T&G Jersey.

The upgrade includes a new mezzanine floor, additional pallet handling and loading areas, upgraded racking, a new roller door and improved storage facilities. According to the company, the changes have increased usable floor space by around 40%.

A formal opening event was held on 5 June, attended by project partners and representatives from the business community.

Mark Brandon, Managing Director of SunWorks, said: “This is a truly transformative initiative that Government should be proud of. With all the current political discussion in Jersey, surprisingly few manifestos mention meaningful support for local businesses like ours. Creating a positive and efficient working environment for businesses doing meaningful work is the bedrock of prosperity.

“The Better Business programme gave us the push to do the project properly and not cut corners. I’m extremely proud of what we’ve achieved and will always invest in our business and our people.”
