Barclays has announced plans to move its business from Broad Street to new purpose-built offices on the Esplanade. The move will see up to 300 employees relocate to the new site in 2020.
The new offices are currently under construction and will feature a high specification working environment, state of the art client facilities, underground parking, and extensive cycle facilities.
Managing director of Barclays in Jersey, Paul Savery said: “Jersey is a key centre for Barclays and we have invested consistently in the island. In the last three years we have created more than 70 new jobs here as well as opened the Barclays Eagle Lab at the library which provides fantastic facilities to support local businesses and entrepreneurs.
This most recent investment is really exciting and will provide a world-class environment for our employees to develop and thrive.”
The Bank’s flagship branch at Library Place will continue to provide day-to-day banking services, mortgages and also house the Premier client suite.
“We have a long history in Jersey since the Library Place branch opened in 1921. We are very much looking forward to celebrating its centenary and the next chapter of our Jersey story in our new headquarters”, said Mr Savery.
