Experienced banking and finance lawyer Alex Wickens has joined Walkers’ Guernsey team.
Alex – rated as a Rising Star by Legal 500 last week – has been in private practice for almost a decade and specialises in real estate financing and Islamic financing matters.
He advises clients on complex structuring arrangements on acquisitions and disposals of UK commercial real estate assets, advising on both borrower and lender side. Alex joins the team led by Group Partners Zoë Hallam and Kim Paiva.
Walkers’ Guernsey Managing Partner Matt Sanders said that Alex’s arrival was very welcome. “We are very pleased to welcome Alex to our busy Banking & Finance team – his experience in real estate financing dovetails neatly with the skills of our existing team, and he has significant experience in practising Guernsey law.”
Fraser Hern, the head of Walkers’ Channel Islands business, said: “There is a significant international market for Guernsey law advice in respect of real estate finance, asset finance, fund finance and general secured lending, and we continue to recruit and grow our team in response to client demand.
“Client feedback published by Legal 500 just last week highlighted Alex’s commercial approach and proactive solutions to complex issues which fits well with our collaborative ethos and standards of excellence in client service.”
