James Lyon, Senior Administrator from The Baccata Group, has been chosen as one of the thirty candidates to have been selected for Jersey’s new finance educational initiative Jersey #BuildBackBetter.
It is designed to upskill and inspire the Island’s next generation of sustainable finance leaders. The year-long programme was launched in March in parallel with Jersey Finance’s “Jersey for Good” sustainable finance strategy. Led by KIT Consulting and Potting Shed, along with their inaugural sponsor, Rathbone Investment Management International, the initiative focusses on the most practical, applied and impactful ways that Jersey’s financial services industry can have positive global impact.
Nicholas Falla, CEO at Baccata Group, commented on the announcement: “We are delighted that James has been chosen by a panel of sustainability experts as one of the 30 applicants for this year’s inaugural on-island finance industry sustainable education programme, Jersey #BuildBackBetter. We put James forward as we believe he is a ‘next generation’ financial services sustainable leader and his acceptance on to the initiative further evidences that. We all have a role to play in continuing to build Jersey as a global centre of excellence for sustainable finance. We are also committed to creating learning environments that provide a clear pathway to success.”
James stated: “I’m really excited to have been selected to be part of the Jersey #BuildBackBetter sustainable finance programme. Networking and attending events is one thing I’ve really missed during COVID, so I’m feeling very lucky to have the opportunity to meet like-minded professionals, speak to and learn from experts within the industry and spend time discussing issues that focus on the future and sustainable finance projects for Jersey. Baccata is a great company to work for and I am very grateful for their support in putting me forward and look forward to the next year.”
