Babbé LLP has expanded its Disputes and Risk team with the recent appointment of Senior Associate, Vicky Oliver.
Vicky (pictured) comes to Babbé after more than 10 years as an Advocate at the Johannesburg Bar, specialising in commercial disputes and arbitration in the areas of banking, financial services, construction and insolvency.
Her depth of experience and learning lead to her qualifying as a Fellow of the Association of Arbitrators, allowing her to provide clients with valuable insight into the resolution of high value commercial disputes, including on the appropriate strategic approach to other forms of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation.
“I have been made to be feel especially welcome by the hard-working Disputes & Risk team and everyone at Babbé and look forward to being part of the ambitious growth the firm has planned.
“The world of commercial disputes is a challenging one but the firm’s dedication to client service is at the forefront of its strategic vision, which is something that really appeals to me and my professional aspiration to service clients at the highest possible level”
Reflecting on the continuing growth at Babbé, Advocate Todd McGuffin, Head of the Disputes & Risk team, said: “The evolution of the nature of the work the team undertakes from contentious trusts, funds, commercial and insolvency matters to financial services regulatory issues, investigations and trust and corporate mitigation and remediation work, has been reflected by the rebranding of our team to Disputes & Risk.
“Vicky represents a further critical hire, as part of our vision of being Guernsey’s leader in client relationships and delivering exceptional client services”.
