Guernsey law firm, Babbé has strengthened its corporate department with the appointment of a new Associate, Tiaan Calitz.
Mr Calitz will be providing corporate and commercial advice, assisting on transactions such as mergers and acquisitions, as well as advising on governance requirements for corporate entities and their boards of directors.
He qualified as an attorney in South Africa and gained several years’ experience of commercial litigation matters and corporate law with Rademeyer Attorneys in Johannesburg.
In 2018 Mr Calitz completed a Master of Laws (LL.M) in European and International Business Law at the University of Debrecen, Hungary and graduated first in class. In 2015, when taking the South African Attorney’s Admission exam, he achieved the highest mark in the Cape Law Society region.
Mr Calitz said: “It is a very exciting time to join Babbé. The firm is growing and I am looking forward to applying my international viewpoint to a new jurisdiction and to be joining such a high calibre team.”
