Aurigny Aid is helping support Alderney’s community as the airline maintains its vital airlink to the island.
Launched in response to the coronavirus crisis, Aurigny Aid puts airline staff, who are no longer able to do their day job, to work in the community. In Alderney, staff are assisting with grocery deliveries for Le Cocq Stores to those self-isolating or the elderly.
While passengers are few, Aurigny’s Dornier operation in and out of Alderney delivers crucial supplies, including the mail, freight, and pathology boxes required for essential medical reasons.
‘I am proud of all our staff and how they have coped at this time. Those living in Alderney must feel even more isolated, so it is great to know our staff and the services they are providing are making such a difference to those in that part of our Bailiwick,’ said Aurigny CEO Mark Darby.
Aurigny also continues to operate its medivac service between Alderney and Guernsey and responded to a request on Saturday 18 April.
