Association of Jersey Charities launches 2025 Charity Awards 2025

The Association of Jersey Charities is encouraging island charities to showcase their outstanding achievements and recognise their amazing individuals once again, as it launches the 2025 Jersey Charity Awards.

Designed to highlight professionalism and excellence, celebrate charities’ recent achievements and champion best practice in the charitable sector, the Awards were first established fourteen years ago and are held every two years.

There are three categories for this year’s Awards:

  • Outstanding Achievement for a Large Charity
  • Outstanding Achievement for a Medium Charity
  • Outstanding Achievement for a Small Charity

The Awards are open to any Jersey-based charity that has registered with the Charity Commission, and Island charities whose work is based overseas are also eligible to enter.

A £5,000 prize will be awarded to the winner of each category while there are also prizes for two runners up. The Awards will be judged by an independent panel including former States Member Paul Routier MBE; consultant and trainer in the not-for-profit sector Jane Galloway; Charles Humpleby, experienced non executive director; and past Chairman and long-term executive committee member of the Association of Jersey Charities Liz Le Poidevin.

In selecting winners, the judges will be looking for significant achievements, examples of excellence and innovation, and demonstrations of leadership that can inspire others. Winners will be announced at a special Afternoon Tea Awards Ceremony on Sunday 14th September, held in the grounds of Government House.

The Awards are once again supported by the Ana Leaf Foundation and Jersey Finance, with fundraising undertaken by finance industry firms going towards the Awards’ prize funds.

Chair of the Association of Jersey Charities, Marcus Liddiard, said: “We are fortunate in Jersey to have a diverse and highly engaged charity sector, delivering a broad range of critical services right across our local community – something that came out strongly in our recently published ‘Power of Partnerships’ report.

“However, the world they operate in has been incredibly challenging over the past few years as they have grappled with a cost of living crisis, a difficult fundraising environment, and complex social shifts. Overall, it has demanded charities do more, with less.

“In the face of these challenges, though, charities have responded positively, demonstrating leadership and innovation in how they deliver their services. The Jersey Charity Awards provide a fantastic opportunity to recognise that and celebrate the remarkable impact our charitable sector has here in Jersey. I’m looking forward to seeing another broad cross section of charities entering our Awards this year.”
