Channel Eye has joined forces with Royston Guest, leading Business Growth Coach and CEO/Founder of Pathways Global, in our series, ‘Ask the Business Coach’.

The business landscape is volatile, increasingly competitive and, certainly over the long term, unpredictable. Globalisation and technology have turned us into the ‘always on’ consumer, searching without boundaries and looking for immediate solutions to our challenges. The current pace of change drives a never-ending surge of actions, tasks, priorities, and goals, leaving many feeling overwhelmed.

Business Growth Pathways logoThree key takeaways

  1. Continually prioritise your top three tasks.
  2. Work on a task until you can’t do anything more to it.
  3. Prioritise the priorities.

Episode timestamps

  • [2.01] Identify the top three tasks that will move the needle and move you closer to your goal. Focus on the top three – the top three may change, but you’re always trying to nail three.
  • [3.17] Work on your task until you can’t work on it anymore, either because it’s finished, you can delegate it, or you are waiting for someone/something.
  • [3.40] Know how to prioritise the priorities. Create a quick mental sense check against each task; is this moving the needle forward? Is this helping me achieve my personal or professional goals? Does it add value? Am I the only one that can do this? Will it make a difference once it’s completed?
