Ask the Business Coach: We are doing our business planning for next year, where should we start?

Channel Eye has joined forces with Royston Guest, leading Business Growth Coach and CEO/Founder of Pathways Global, in our column, ‘Ask the Business Coach’

There is a massive philosophical shift happening in how businesses around the world must think about how they acquire, maximise and retain customers, and it’s affecting your business right now.

Where you have previously been able to focus your energies on building great products and services as a competitive advantage, taking your business to its full potential will require something entirely different in the future.

Business Growth Pathways logoThe big three takeaways!

  1. Go forwards to basics
  2. Think C to B; Customer to Business
  3. Ask; How easy is it to do business with us?

Episode timestamps

  • [0.55] The starting point is going forwards to basics. Looking at your clients and what is important to them. The primary purpose of a business is to attract, maximise and retain clients. Anything that contributes to that is an investment; anything that doesn’t is a cost.
  • [2.00] Put your customer at the centre and work out from there. Think C (Customer) to B (Business), not B (Business) to C (Customer) or even B (Business) to B (Business).
  • [2.26] Work through your business in your customer’s shoes and get to a point where you can answer the question; how easy is it to do business with us?
