After three years of transforming Elizabeth Marina through colour, creativity and community, ArtHouse Jersey’s much-loved Art in the Arches project has reached its final milestone.
With this year’s 19 new murals now complete, the marina is now home to a total of 47 large-scale artworks, creating Jersey’s most distinctive outdoor galleries.
Islanders and visitors are invited to explore the free public art trail, which stretches beneath the marina arches and brings together work by professional artists, school pupils and community groups from across Jersey.
Delivered by ArtHouse Jersey in partnership with Ports of Jersey, with support from Viberts, this year’s project invited participants to respond to the theme Safe Haven, exploring ideas of belonging, connection, resilience, nature and our relationship with the sea.
Originally conceived by local resident Mary Venturini and curated by artist and educator Jacqueline Rutter, Art in the Arches has grown into a much-loved feature of Jersey’s cultural calendar, transforming a familiar waterfront route into a vibrant open-air gallery where creativity is freely accessible to everyone.
This year’s new additions have been created by artists Yulia Makayeva, James Colmer, Max Corbett, Sami “Kumo” Osman, Kate Sugden and Jamie Cole, alongside murals developed with Bel Royal Primary School, Mont à l’Abbé School, Hautlieu School, La Passerelle Primary School, Jersey Marine Conservation, Ocean Culture Life, Japanese exchange students visiting Jersey and participants from ArtHouse Jersey’s Saturday Art School. The 2026 programme also includes a special international collaboration with artists from Antigua & Barbuda, celebrating the shared heritage and connections between island communities.
Together, 47 murals now create a colourful walking trail celebrating creativity, community and place, encouraging people to slow down, explore the marina and
experience art beyond the walls of a gallery.
