Appleby has received a number of nominations in the 2027 Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards.
The nominations include individual nominations for Claire van Overdijk KC and Sam Williams, alongside Law Firm of the Year nominations in the Caribbean and Isle of Man categories.
Now in its twentieth year, the Citywealth International Financial Centre Awards were established to highlight the excellence of advisers and managers in the private wealth sector in the major international financial centres.
Claire van Overdijk KC (pictured), Partner and Practice Group Head of Appleby Bermuda’s Private Client and Trusts department, has been nominated for Lawyer of the Year – Litigation. She is also a member of the firm’s Dispute Resolution team.
Claire has a broad private client practice advising on domestic and offshore wealth structuring and estate planning matters including the establishment, restructuring, variation and termination of trust structures, matters relating to trust administration, as well as probate and testamentary issues. Claire’s dispute resolution practice extends to advocacy, strategic expertise and tactical advice in domestic and multi-jurisdictional high-value litigation, and the resolution of complex disputes in the fields of trusts, estates, commercial, insolvency and insurance law.
Sam Williams has been shortlisted for Lawyer of the Year – Channel Islands & Isle of Man. Sam is a Partner in Appleby’s Jersey office and a member of the Dispute Resolution team. He is an experienced litigator and advocate and advises clients on a wide range of complex disputes, with particular expertise in private wealth matters.
As well as Claire and Sam’s individual recognition, Appleby has also been shortlisted for Law Firm of the Year in both the Caribbean and the Isle of Man categories.
