Appleby has welcomed Christophe Kalinauckas as Group Partner in its Jersey office and Paul Worsnop has been sworn in at the Jersey Royal Court today (Wednesday 13th January).

Christophe is a Jersey Advocate and specialises in all aspects of corporate and private equity work, debt finance and real estate finance matters. Christophe also has expertise in listing securities on The International Stock Exchange, including green bonds, private equity acquisition debt, high yield bonds and a number of prestigious Asian-backed debt listings. Christophe has also been admitted as a Cayman Islands Attorney and English Solicitor (non-practising).

Christophe also has substantial offshore experience including corporate, banking & finance work, private equity work, restructurings, joint ventures, advising on several aspects of M&A deals and general non contentious offshore law. He is consistently ranked by Legal 500 and IFLR 1000 for Corporate, Banking, Finance and Capital Markets, and is praised for his ‘excellent attention to detail and great skill in transactions’.

Prior to joining Appleby, Christophe worked for over 15 years in private practice in Jersey and in the Cayman Islands, at two major offshore firms.

Christophe Kalinauckas commented: “I am delighted to join Appleby as a leading offshore law firm, with a global network of 10 offices in key offshore jurisdictions.  I look forward to using my expertise to enhance the capability of the team further, providing offshore legal advice in areas such as Corporate, Banking, Finance and Capital Markets”.

In addition to the appointment of a new group partner to Appleby’s Jersey business, Paul Worsnop, Senior Associate from Appleby’s Corporate Team in Jersey, has today been sworn in as a Jersey Advocate in the Royal Court.

Senior Associate, Paul Worsnop commented after his swearing-in ceremony: “The current restrictions meant today’s ceremony wasn’t quite what it otherwise might have been but it was still an excellent way to mark all the hard work my classmates and I have put in over the last two years.  I am very grateful to the Royal Court for doing everything they could in difficult circumstances and making today such a success.  I am sure we will all be celebrating tonight in whatever way we can!”

Corporate Practice Group Head Andrew Weaver commented: “We are pleased to have Christophe Kalinauckas join our thriving and growing team. Congratulations also to Paul Worsnop for being sworn-in as a Jersey Advocate. Both announcements underline our strategic objective to reinforce our position as one of the leading offshore firms both globally and in Jersey”.
