Channel Islands independent director services business Altair has strengthened its pan-Channel Islands team with the double appointment of Jon Trigg in Altair’s Jersey office and Hubert Nicolle in the firm’s Guernsey office. These new hires place Altair in a strong position as the group gears up for growth in demand for experienced independent directors.
In his new role as Head of Altair’s Jersey office, Jon will work with the existing successful team in continuing the development of Altair’s business in Jersey.
He joins Altair from Moore Management, where he worked for five years, most recently as Head of Global Fund Services with responsibility for the firm’s global strategy. With almost two decades of international financial services experience, Jon brings significant expertise and knowledge to the team, having also previously held private equity roles at State Street and UBS.
A Director on multiple fund boards, Jon is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA).
Meanwhile, Hubert‘s appointment further strengthens Altair’s independent director team in Guernsey. As well as continuing to build a portfolio of non-executive directorships primarily on regulated fund boards, he will bring operational expertise in support of the firm’s growth plans.
With a career in financial services spanning more than 16 years and with specialist experience in the funds and fiduciary sectors, primarily private equity and real estate, Hubert joins Altair from Belasko Administration where he was Operations Director with additional responsibility for the company’s regulated fund service offerring.
Having also previously held senior roles at JPM and Schroders in Guernsey, Hubert has worked in both the regulated and unregulated funds sectors. He originally trained and qualified as a Chartered Accountant with EY, and is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (CA).
Commenting on his appointment, Jon said:
“Organisations, particularly in the Channel Islands are increasingly acknowledging the importance of good governance and board effectiveness in the funds sector, and being able to draw on first-class professional independent director services is absolutely vital in being able to achieve that. With this in mind, I am delighted to be able to join at a time when we see considerable growth opportunities for Altair. They are an organisation that are admired by the offshore funds industry and I am excited to have the opportunity to work with the team.”
Michel Davy, Head of Altair’s Guernsey office, added:
“As Altair continues to evolve as a business, I’m pleased to welcome Hubert to our team in Guernsey as we build a strong platform for future growth. His previous experience and understanding of the complexities of the regulatory, corporate governance and risk management landscape add considerably to the range of expertise we can offer at a time when such expertise is in such high demand.”
Founded in 2012, Altair is regulated by the Jersey Financial Services Commission and the Guernsey Financial Services Commission and provides highly qualified independent directors and consultancy services to companies across the Channel Islands.
