Jersey family law firm, Myersons, has appointed Advocate Jamie Orchard as Partner.
Jamie (pictured) specialises in high net worth divorce matters and has a wealth of experience in family law with a focus on complex financial matters.
Commenting on his appointment, Founding Partner, Victoria Myerson said: “This appointment marks an exciting new chapter in the development of our firm. I am delighted to have Jamie join our team and help us continue to deliver a first-class level of service to our clients.”
Jamie said: “The work that Myersons undertakes has always been of the highest quality as well as some of the most novel and interesting work in this professional sphere in Jersey, and this is what has attracted me the most to this role. I look forward to supporting current and future clients”.
Jamie graduated in Law from the University of Exeter in 2008 and went on to achieve a distinction for his LPC from the College of Law, Guildford, being admitted as an Advocate in 2012. Since returning to Jersey in 2009 he has predominantly dealt with family law work including public and private children law matters.
His experience further includes complex financial matters involving overseas assets and offshore companies, cross jurisdictional children’s matters, (including Hague Convention proceedings), as well as complicated contact and residence private law children matters also comprising parental alienation.
He is described by the Legal 500 as: ‘a lawyer’s lawyer, never brash but cool, calm and effective. He knows his law and also knows when to take points (and when to leave them) to further his client’s interests’.
