Local performers will have the opportunity to showcase their musical talent as part of the entertainment programme at the 2019 Barclays Jersey Boat Show.

Due to the popularity of the stage entertainment programme, The Solent Stevedores Main Stage will once again be located in Weighbridge Place to allow for increased audience capacity and with the added benefit of a large visual screen, which will display live and pre-recorded images of the show throughout the weekend.

The stage programme will showcase an eclectic mix of local musical talent, including performances from ‘Headliners’ The Jersey Bounce (Saturday 04 May), Inside Job, (Sunday 05 May) and Take This (Monday 06 May). They will be joined over the weekend by the ladies’ fun choir Hot Bananas(Sunday 05 May), rock group Backbeat (Saturday 04 May), Optimistic Voices (Saturday 04 May), Alfie Butel(Monday 06 May), Little Black Dress (Monday 06 May) and Les Quennevais Steel Band who have all all previously performed at the show.

On behalf of the Main Stage sponsors, Solent Stevedores, Chief Operating Officer, Ian Jacobs, said: “Solent Stevedores are delighted to continue actively supporting the Barclays Jersey Boat Show as the Main Stage sponsor for 2019. It is fantastic to have seen the show develop and increase in popularity year after year and we commend all those involved in its organisation. We look forward to seeing another great mix of acts on the Solent Stevedores Main Stage at the Weighbridge again this year.”

Other musical performances during the weekend include Scott Livingstone, Tasha & Will, Nic Dinnie and The L is M Band who are all making their Boat Show debut.

In a move to attract and showcase more local musical talent, Ports of Jersey is also setting up an additional smaller ‘Introducing’ music stage area in the Outdoor & Active Zone on the Albert Pier for performances over the weekend. The programme is currently being finalised and will be publicised in due course.

The 3-day Barclays Jersey Boat Show, which remains the largest free-entry event in the Channel Islands takes place in and around St Helier Marina and Weighbridge Place between Saturday 04 and Monday 06 May 2019. The event is open daily from 10am and entry is free.
