A new company has been established to support smaller bookkeeping businesses across the Channel Islands and the UK.
Springtide has been founded by three local professionals in response to changes in the bookkeeping industry, including the growing use of technology and increasing demand for a wider range of client services.
The group aims to give smaller practices access to shared technology, software licences, professional expertise and industry connections that may otherwise be difficult or costly to obtain independently.
TCS and EPOS.gg are now part of the Springtide group, which will be led by Tim Chilestone and Millie Goubert, alongside non-executive director Sam McCarthy. Tim will also continue his roles at TCS and EPOS.gg.
The group plans to encourage collaboration and referrals between participating firms, allowing smaller practices to offer a wider range of services while retaining their independence.
Tim Chilestone, Director at TCS, said: “We’ve heard from talented smaller firms that have to say no to clients because they can’t offer everything their clients need under one roof. At the same time, the cost and pace of technology can make it difficult for a small practice to keep up.
“Springtide is about changing that. By sharing access to technology, expertise and industry connections, we can help smaller firms offer more to their clients and grow whilst retaining the personal service that makes them successful in the first place.
“AI is changing the way bookkeeping is done, and smaller firms shouldn’t be left behind. For us, it isn’t about replacing people. It’s about using the right technology to handle time-consuming tasks, so teams can spend more time where it matters most: with their clients.”
