Ogier teams in Guernsey, Jersey and London recognised in 2027 Legal 500 UK Guide

Ogier announces 43 new year promotions across Channel Islands

Ogier’s teams in Guernsey, Jersey and London have received recognition for their “specialised expertise, rapid results and client-focused service” in the Legal 500 UK Guide 2027.

The firm ranks top tier across 15 practice areas: Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Corporate and Commercial and M&A, Dispute Resolution, Insurance, Investment Funds, Private Client, Trusts and Tax, Real Estate, and Regulatory and White-Collar Crime. Ogier also ranks as a leading offshore firm in London.

A total of 69 lawyers have been recognised, including five Hall of Fame recognitions, 23 Leading Partners, nine Next Generation Partners, eight Leading Associates and 30 key lawyers.

Individual recognition

Jersey

In Jersey, those recognised are:

  • For Banking and Finance, ranked individuals include Leading Partner Bruce MacNeil and Next Generation Partners Kate McCaffrey and Jennifer Cox.
  • For Capital Markets, Raulin Amy and Bruce MacNeil are recognised as Leading Partners, while Michael Evans and Lucy Chambers are highlighted as key lawyers.
  • For Corporate and Commercial, Raulin Amy is recognised in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame; Richard Daggett, Simon Dinning and Matthew Shaxson are highlighted as Leading Partners; Amy Garrod and Oliver Richardson are named Next Generation Partners; and James Fox, Alex Fisher and Marcela Tudose are noted as key lawyers.
  • For Dispute Resolution, Damian Evans and Nick Williams are ranked as Leading Partners, while James Angus and Rebecca McNulty are Next Generation Partners. Matthew Davies and Ralph Spencer-Tucker are key lawyers.
  • For Employment, Will Austin-Vautier is ranked as a Leading Associate and Wendy Lambert is a key lawyer.
  • For Investment Funds, Emily Haithwaite is recognised in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame; Niamh Lalor and Sophie Reguengo are Leading Partners; and Matt McManus and Alexandra O’Grady are highlighted as Next Generation Partners. Joanna Christensen, Ryan Ripamonti and Naomi Chinniah are key lawyers.
  • For Private Client, Trusts and Tax, James Campbell and Josephine Howe are named Leading Partners, while George Yates is a Leading Associate. Henry Wickham, Richard Laignel and Stephen Lord are recognised as key lawyers.
  • For Real Estate, Jonathan Hughes and Katharine Marshall are named Leading Partners, with Leading Associate rankings for Sarah Parish and Laura Shirreffs.
  • For Regulatory and White-Collar Crime, James Angus and Matthew Shaxson are highlighted as key lawyers.

Guernsey

In Guernsey, those recognised are:

  • For Banking and Finance, Christopher Jones and Paul Chanter are ranked as Leading Partners, while Matthew Macfarlane and Jonathan Branch are recommended as key lawyers.
  • For Corporate and M&A, Bryon Rees and Richard Sharp are ranked as Leading Partners, alongside key lawyers James Walsh and Liam Murphy.
  • For Insurance, Richard Sharp is named in the Hall of Fame, while Andrew Grant is a Leading Associate. Michelle Watson Bunn and Andrew Grant are also listed as key lawyers.
  • For Investment Funds, Bryon Rees and Tim Clipstone are ranked as Leading Partners, with further recognition for Gabrielle Payne as a key lawyer.
  • For Capital Markets, Bryon Rees is a Leading Partner.
  • For Dispute Resolution, Simon Davies is named in the Hall of Fame, while Mathew Newman is ranked as a Leading Partner. Bryan de Verneuil-Smith is a key lawyer.
  • For Private Client, Trusts and Tax, Matt Guthrie is ranked as a Leading Partner, while Catherine Moore is recognised as a Next Generation Partner. Chris Hards and Diana Rodriguez are named as key lawyers.
  • For Real Estate, Martyn Baudains is ranked in the Hall of Fame. Piers Dereham and Martín Casas have both been recognised as Leading Associates.
  • For Regulatory and White-Collar Crime, Bryan de Verneuil-Smith is a key lawyer.

London

In London, those recognised are:

  • Bruce Scott and Richard Bennett as Leading Partners.
  • Anna Snead as a Leading Associate.
  • Hannah Diss, Ewelina Clyde-Smith and Ross Wilding as key lawyers.
