Jersey’s Skills Development and Visitor Economy Grants have now ceased accepting applications.
The grant, together with the Productivity Grant, which are part of the Better Business Support Package, have seen strong demand since the support package to help Jersey transition to a higher minimum wage was launched last year.
The Visitor Economy Grants allocated matched funding to projects helping build business resilience through Productivity gains. The Skills Grants in 2026 saw an increase in grant funding to 80% of skills costs which has proved a real incentive for businesses to take this opportunity to invest in their teams.
Jennie Smith (pictured), Head of Business Support at Jersey Business, said: “We’re delighted that both these elements attracted such a strong demand from businesses across the economy. What’s positive is that they’ve used the Better Business Grant as a catalyst to boost their own investment, and that’s having a positive impact on their businesses as well as wider economy with much of the grant monies being spent here on island.
“The Apprenticeship Grant is the final element of the Better Business Grant, and we are encouraging businesses to apply for this opportunity to fund people looking to break into their chosen industry.”
Applications for Apprenticeship Grants are still open, and Jersey Business is looking forward to receiving applications for help supporting apprentice positions in their companies.
