Appleby has announced the promotions of James Gallimore to Senior Associate within its Guernsey Dispute Resolution team and Inyeneobong Udoh to Senior Associate within Jersey’s Corporate team.

James (pictured) joined Appleby in 2023, advising on contentious and non-contentious employment issues for a wide range of clients including international companies and financial institutions. He has worked on Employment Tribunal claims relating to unfair dismissal, sex discrimination and disability discrimination, and has experience on multi-jurisdictional employment projects and undertaking corporate support work.

James also drafts employment-related documentation, such as contracts of employment, HR policies, director’s service agreements and settlement agreements.

Appleby Guernsey Managing Group Partner Richard Sheldon, said: “Since joining Appleby, James has demonstrated a strong technical ability across a broad range of employment matters, combined with a consistently pragmatic and client-focused approach. He is a valued member of our pan-Channel Island employment team and his promotion to Senior Associate is thoroughly well deserved. We look forward to his continued contribution as his career progresses with Appleby.”

James added: “This promotion marks an exciting new step in my career. I am grateful for the support and guidance of my colleagues at Appleby, and proud to be part of such a collaborative and high-performing team. I look forward to continuing to support our clients and contributing to the firm’s ongoing success.”

Inyeneobong Udoh

Inyeneobong is known for his ability to provide creative solutions to meet legal and commercial objectives. He advises on key aspects of corporate transactions including M&A, corporate restructuring and re-organisations. He also advises on a broad range of financing matters including structured finance and corporate lending.

With prior experience handling large-scale commercial disputes, he understands the market within which clients’ businesses operate and employs this foresight in advising against potential pitfalls.

Before joining Appleby, he practised in Nigeria for five years and advised on a broad range of transactions impacting the Nigerian and wider African market.

Appleby Jersey Managing Partner James Gaudin said: “We are delighted to promote Inyene to the next stage of his career. His dedication, technical excellence and commitment to our clients has made a real impact within the corporate team. We are incredibly proud of his achievements and look forward to seeing Inyene continue to thrive with the firm.”

Inyene added: “I’m thrilled to be taking this next step in my career and grateful for the support and opportunities I’ve had within the team. It’s a fantastic group to be part of and I’m proud of what we’ve achieved together. I’m excited for the future and working with the team to add to our achievements.”
