Newly published passenger figures have shown continued growth in sea travel to and from Guernsey, with bookings for the 2026 season currently running 33% ahead of the same point last year.
As of late January, a total 60,880 passengers have booked travel between Guernsey, Poole, Portsmouth and Saint Malo for journeys up to 31 October 2026. This compares with 45,713 recorded at the same stage in 2025, underlining sustained demand from the UK and France.
Overall passenger carryings to Guernsey during 2025 were ahead by a third compared with the previous year. Brittany Ferries also boosted its market share of all sea travel to the Channel Islands from France and the UK in December last year to 48%.
Christophe Mathieu, Chief Executive of Brittany Ferries, welcomed the results: “I am delighted that the strong growth we achieved in our first year of operations is continuing into our second season.
“These excellent forward-booking figures reflect the effectiveness of our extensive marketing activity in both the UK and France during the quieter months and represent positive news for the tourism industry in the Bailiwick.
“They also demonstrate the growing appeal of Guernsey as a destination and the confidence passengers have in our services as we look ahead to 2026.”
