The Alderney Policy & Finance Committee has launched a Minimum Wage Survey.
The survey, closing on 9th February 2026, will provide residents and businesses with the opportunity to share their views on the introduction of Minimum Wage legislation on the island.
The survey forms part of the ongoing work of the Policy & Finance Committee to implement Minimum Wage and will collect objective, anonymous data from employers, employees, and other members of the community. The information gathered will help inform future policy decisions and establish an important benchmark for employment related- data in Alderney.
The survey has been designed to reflect the different perspectives within the various employment sectors. Participants will be guided through tailored questions depending on whether they identify as an employer, an employee, or another stakeholder.
Hard copies of the survey will also be available on request from the General Office, ensuring that all members of the community have the opportunity to participate.
Commenting on the survey, Jeannie Cameron, Chair of the Policy & Finance Committee, said: “It is essential that any consideration of a minimum wage for Alderney is informed by clear, objective evidence. This survey provides an important opportunity for both employers and employees to tell us about their experiences and views, and I would strongly encourage everyone with an interest in this issue to take part.”
She continued: “The Minimum Wage Survey represents an important step in understanding how a minimum wage could affect Alderney’s economy, workforce, and businesses.”
