CThru Intel, a Guernsey digital assets risk and compliance firm, have announced their hire of digital assets lawyer Steve Moore as their in-house Chief Legal Officer.
Steve (pictured), who took a leading role in establishing the Channel Islands and Caribbean digital assets offering at Collas Crill, joins founders Albert Climent and Jamie Winterburn to aid their expansion into consultancy services.
“Steve is one of the most brilliant crypto legal minds I’ve ever encountered, and with him on the team, CThru now operates at a level that sets the benchmark for crypto compliance excellence,” said Albert Climent.
“Bringing Steve on board as we hit our growth phase was a no-brainer. Having technical, compliance, and legal expertise under one roof is almost unheard of today”
Jamie Winterburn, the Chief Operations Officer, said of the new hire: “For years, Guernsey businesses have been turning virtual assets clients away. All we want to do is point out that they don’t have to do that. When we found out Steve had been saying the same thing in his industry it was inevitable that we were going to work together.”
As well as his in-house role, Steve will assist Albert Climent and Jamie Winterburn in the consultancy and training side of the business, using the skills of his past career in the Royal Air Force.
“We just clicked at the first meeting.” said Steve. “Jamie and Albert have already got a technically exceptional product, all I’m doing is adding to the existing offering.”
In what is believed to be a first for Guernsey: Moore is taking his payment in Bitcoin. “If you’re going to offer services in this area, you have to commit to it,” he said.
“You just need to be careful about not storing all your keys at home because of the physical security risks, but there are services out there now that can help you with that. Maybe even Guernsey fiduciaries?”
