The Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development, the professional body for HR and people development, has announced the appointment of Ry Williams as its new Chair of the Channel Islands Branch.

Ryan (pictured) succeeds Susan Russell following her successful tenure.

Ryan brings 10 years of experience in the HR profession across the finance, legal, retail, and charitable sectors, across Jersey, Guernsey, the Isle of Man, the UK, and Dublin. He has served as Deputy Chair of the CIPD Channel Islands for the past three and a half years, and has been an active committee member for almost six years.

Ry serves as Senior HR Manager – Employee Relations at Walkers Global, where he leads ER strategy and oversees employee relations support across the Channel Islands, the UK, and Ireland. Alongside his HR work, he also plays an active role in the community as Deputy Chair and Non-Executive Director of the Jersey Opera House.

Ry said: “It is a privilege to take on the role of Chair of the CIPD Channel Islands. I am passionate about our profession and the incredible HR community across Jersey and Guernsey.

“I look forward to working with the committee, our members, and CIPD HQ to continue strengthening our branch, improving member value, and championing the impact of people professionals across the islands.

“I would also like to express my sincere thanks to Susan, who has served as Chair for the past four years. Her leadership, vision, and unwavering commitment to enhancing the CIPD community have shaped the strong foundation we have today. I have seen first-hand the impact she has made, and I am truly grateful for everything she has contributed.”
