Wealth and opportunity in the coming years will increasingly flow through women as the ‘she economy’ continues to grow, according to speakers at a series of events in the Middle East recently, organised by Jersey Finance.

The annual ‘Perspectives: Women in Leadership’ series took place in Riyadh, Doha and Dubai between 5th and 9th October. The series was attended by 300 professionals and business leaders, providing a platform to celebrate women’s leadership. Speakers shared insights and professional expertise, sparking conversations and fostering connections among attendees who contribute to the success of both businesses and families in the region.

Led by Jersey Finance Director – GCC, An Kelles, the events brought together current and future women leaders to share their experiences. Through a number of talks and panel sessions, the events served to highlight how women are emerging as a significant economic force, leading institutions, shaping the future of family businesses, occupying top positions in the corporate world and opening doors for the next generation to increasingly take on leadership roles.

In addition, Amy Bryant, Jersey Finance Deputy Chief Executive Officer, moderated an insightful fireside chat at all three events. She was joined by Jill Britton, Director General, Jersey Financial Services Commission, Deputy Elaine Millar, Minister for Treasury and Resources, Government of Jersey, in Riyadh and Doha and Helen De La Cour, Director of Financial and Professional Services, Government of Jersey in Dubai.

Commenting on the events, An Kelles said: With traditional models continuing to evolve, now is a pivotal time for women across the GCC and beyond to shape the future of business. Throughout our Perspectives series this year, the consistent message was that women are continuing to break down barriers, creating their own space at the top table, and advocating and paving the way for future generations of women to shape the future.

“Our Perspectives series, which plays a key role in deepening our dialogue with the Gulf region, once again served to provide practical inspiration through peer stories, candid lessons and new connections to help women advance in their careers and influence. And this year, attendees were left in no doubt – the ‘she economy’ is very real and women are playing an important role within the context of global wealth dynamics.”
