Ogier cements reputation in Legal 500 UK 2026 rankings

Ogier’s teams in Guernsey, Jersey and London have received outstanding recognition in the Legal 500 UK Guide 2026, with 20 ranked practice areas including 16 top tier rankings and 69 recognised lawyers.

The firm has also received new rankings in the Guide for its fast-growing Regulatory and White-Collar Crime services in both islands.

In Jersey, Ogier has been named top tier across all its practice areas: Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Commercial Property, Corporate and Commercial, Dispute Resolution, Regulatory and White-Collar Crime, Employment, Investment Funds and Private Client, Trusts and Tax.

From the Jersey team, 13 partners have been awarded Hall of Fame and Leading Partner rankings. 10 lawyers are Next Generation Partners, with two more named as Leading Associates and nine recognised as key lawyers.

In Guernsey, Ogier has been awarded tier one status for Banking and Finance, Capital Markets, Commercial Property, Corporate and M&A, Dispute Resolution, Insurance and Private Client, Trusts and Tax. The team is also ranked for Employment, Investment Funds and Regulatory and White-Collar Crime, the latter being a new ranking for the Guernsey office.

Eight partners in Guernsey are in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame/Leading Partners, four are named Next Generation Partners, three are recognised as Leading Associates and a further 11 in Guernsey are singled out as key lawyers.

Ogier has also been ranked as a leading offshore firm in London, with two experts recommended as Leading Partner and Associate respectively, and eight key lawyers.

In Jersey, those recognised are:

  • For Banking and Finance, ranked individuals include Leading Partner Bruce MacNeil, Next Generation Partner Kate McCaffrey, as well as key lawyers Jennifer Cox and Michael Evans
  • For Capital Markets, Raulin Amy and Bruce MacNeil are recognised as Leading Partners while James Fox, Alexander Curry and Lucy Chambers are highlighted as key lawyers.
  • For Commercial Property, Jonathan Hughes and Katharine Marshall are named Leading Partners, with a Leading Associate ranking for Sarah Parish and recognition for Laura Shirreffs as a key lawyer.
  • For Corporate and Commercial, Raulin Amy is recognised in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame; Richard Daggett, Simon Dinning and Matthew Shaxson are highlighted as Leading Partners; Alexander Curry, Amy Garrod and Oliver Richardson are named Next Generation Partners; and James Fox and Kevin Grove are noted as key lawyers
  • For Dispute Resolution, Damian Evans and Nick Williams are ranked as Leading Partners while James Angus, Rebecca McNulty and Oliver Passmore are named Next Generation Partners
  • For Employment, Will Austin-Vautier is ranked a leading associate
  • For Investment Funds, Emily Haithwaite is recognised in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame, Niamh Lalor is a Leading Partner, and Matt McManus, Alexandra O’Grady and Sophie Reguengo are highlighted as Next Generation Partners
  • For Private Client, Trusts and Tax, James Campbell and Josephine Howe are named Leading Partners, while Henry Wickham and Richard Laignel are recognised as key lawyers
  • And, for Regulatory and White-Collar Crime, James Angus and Tom Hall are highlighted as key lawyers

In Guernsey, those recognised are:

  • In Banking and Finance, Christopher Jones is ranked as a Leading Partner, with Paul Chanter named a Next Generation Partner, and Matthew Macfarlane recommended as a key lawyer
  • In Corporate and M&A, Bryon Rees and Richard Sharp are ranked as Leading Partners. Michelle Watson Bunn is named as a key lawyer alongside James Walsh, Diana Collas, Liam Murphy and Gabrielle Payne
  • In Insurance practice, Richard Sharp is ranked as a Leading Individual while Andrew Grant is rank as a leading associate. Michelle Watson Bunn, James Walsh and Gabrielle Payne are also listed as key lawyers in this area.
  • Bryon Rees and Tim Clipstone are ranked as Leading Partners in the Investment Funds team.
  • Further recognition is given to Michelle Watson Bunn and Gabrielle Payne, and consultant Michaela Jesson is also named as a key lawyer
  • Bryon Rees, Tim Clipstone, Richard Sharp and Paul Chanter also head up the Capital Markets team, with Diana Collas recognised as a Recommended Individual
  • In Dispute Resolution, Simon Davies is ranked in the Hall of Fame, while Mathew Newman is ranked as a Leading Partner and Bryan De Verneuil Smith as a Next Generation Partner. Alex Horsbrugh-Porter is recommended as a key lawyer
  • Rachel De Sanges, consultant in the Employment team, is ranked as a next generation partner
  • In Private Client, Trusts and Tax, Matt Guthrie is ranked as a Leading Partner. Catherine Moore is recognised as a Next Generation Partner. Chris Hards is named as a key lawyer
  • In Commercial Property, Martyn Baudains is ranked in the Hall of Fame. Piers Dereham and Martín Casas have both been recognised as Leading Associates

From Ogier’s London office, Bruce Scott is ranked a Leading Partner and Nkechi Hokstad is recognised as a Leading Associate. From the wider team, Hannah Diss, Charlotte Bradshaw, Anna Snead, Ewelina Clyde-Smith, Ross Wilding, Paul Heath, Rebecca Ru and Anya Martin are all named key lawyers.
