Les Rocquettes Hotel, part of the Sarnia Hotels Group, has appointed Etienne Van Schalkwyk as its new Hotel Manager.
Etienne brings over 20 years of leadership experience in the hospitality sector, having worked across South Africa and the UK in roles ranging from General Manager to Operations Manager.
His most recent role was as a Restaurant Manager at the Lodore Falls Hotel & Spa in the Lake District, where he developed his knowledge in food and beverage services, team management and delivering memorable guest experiences.
Etienne said: “Guernsey struck me as a place of genuine warmth and natural beauty, with a vibrant hospitality scene and a strong sense of community. I was drawn to Les Rocquettes Hotel by its loyal following and the excellent opportunities it offers.
“I hope to bring fresh ideas to the hotel by further developing the food and beverage offering, hosting more engaging seasonal events, strengthening staff training, and improving visibility as both a destination for visitors and locals. It is an exciting time to be part of Les Rocquettes and I am honoured to contribute to its next chapter.”
