Ogier Partner, Craig Cordle, has been sworn in as an Advocate of the Royal Court of Guernsey.
Craig joined Ogier’s Guernsey team from a London firm in November 2016, so he has qualified in the minimum possible time, having passed the necessary exams, completed the “Certificat d’études juridiques et normandes” at the University of Caen, and satisfied the two-year residency requirement.
The investment funds and asset management specialist takes the tally of Guernsey-qualified lawyers amongst Ogier’s Guernsey team to 16.
Craig said: “I am delighted to have been admitted in Guernsey. I first began working with Guernsey funds as a trainee lawyer in the City in 2006, so my admission to the Guernsey Bar is very important to me.
“I’m very grateful to have been supported by my friends and colleagues at Ogier, particularly in our growing funds and asset management team.”
Craig worked at Herbert Smith Freehills and Norton Rose Fulbright in the City before joining Ogier.
His highlights this year include advising on the launch of the £202 million Hipgnosis fund investing in songs and musical IP rights, and on the recent launch of Merian Chrysalis’ £100 million fund.
Last year he was named in Private Fund Management’s Top 30 under 40, recognising the top young private equity lawyers in the world.
