The Vale Earth Fair is set to return on 24 August, celebrating music, community, and a global conscience — and this year it comes on the back of a £15,000 donation to three key charities.
Funds raised from the festival’s events have been split equally between The Burma Campaign UK, The Linda Norgrove Foundation, and local domestic abuse charity Safer. The Collective has also contributed over £6,000 to Medical Aid for Palestinians through its Christmas pop-up record shop.
The Burma Campaign UK works for human rights, democracy, and development in Burma (Myanmar), highlighting the Rohingya crisis, campaigning for the release of political prisoners, and exposing human rights abuses by the Burmese military.
The Linda Norgrove Foundation focuses on helping women and children in Afghanistan through education, healthcare improvements, and income-generating projects for women, aiming for lasting positive change.
Closer to home, Safer supports survivors of domestic abuse through advocacy, resources, and education, with tailored plans to promote safety, healing, and independence.
Medical Aid for Palestinians provides essential medical services in Gaza, the West Bank, and Lebanon, with the Collective’s festive fundraising efforts contributing directly to its work.
A spokesperson for Vale Earth Fair said: “The Vale Earth Fair Collective think it’s so important to ensure that these vital charities are supported in the life-saving work that they do. Yes, we enjoy the festival and the events we put on, but we wanted to highlight why we do it all as volunteers.”
