IoD Guernsey Next Gen Committee announces new Chair and Vice Chairs

The Institute of Directors Guernsey Next Gen Forum has announced a leadership transition for its committee as it looks to build on the strong foundations laid by its outgoing Chair and Vice Chair.

On 1st July, Tom Zierer, who served as Chair, and Annaliese McGeoch, as Vice Chair, stepped down following a successful three-year term in their respective roles. Together, they led the launch of the IoD Guernsey Next Gen Forum in 2022, an initiative designed to support and inspire the island’s future leaders through networking, workshops, and professional development.

Under their leadership, the Forum grew into a key platform for emerging talent across Guernsey’s business community, complementing the IoD’s established Future Leaders programmes.

Since 1st July, the Forum has been led by Euan Melrose as Chair, supported by Liz Chalmers and Max Hamon, who have assumed joint roles as Co-Vice Chairs.

Outgoing Chair Tom Zierer said: “The committee has gone from strength to strength over the last three years. It’s been amazing to see such passion from so  many individuals wanting to get involved and help others like them to learn and develop both personally and in their careers. I have every confidence that the new leadership will continue to build upon the foundation that has been created and continue to provide an excellent offering to our members.”

Outgoing Vice Chair Annaliese McGeoch added: “Euan, Liz and Max bring fresh perspectives to diversify and grow the Forum. I feel incredibly proud to have been a part of this initiative, and am confident that it is in safe hands, and look forward to seeing it develop further.”

Incoming Chair Euan Melrose commented: “Tom and Annaliese, as the founders of the Next Gen Forum, deserve a lot of credit for where the forum has progressed over the last 3 years. I was fortunate enough to join them as part of the committee since the inception of the forum and to work with them under their lead as Chair & Co-Chair. I am thrilled to continue their work and, in taking on the role as Chair, am excited to continue developing opportunities and networks with our committee for our Next Gen members.”

Incoming Co-Vice Chair Liz Chalmers added: “I’m delighted to work closely alongside Max and Euan in this next chapter of the Next Gen forum. Annaliese and Tom have led with clear direction and dedication since establishment, so it’s fair to say that we have big shoes to fill. I’m passionate about the forum’s mission to connect and empower Guernsey’s next generation leaders, and I’m looking forward to creating meaningful opportunities for future leaders to grow and  network.”

Incoming Co-Vice Chair Max Hamon commented: “It’s a privilege to step into this role alongside Euan and Liz as we continue the incredible work started by Tom and Annaliese. I’m a strong believer in the Forum’s mission to build up Guernsey’s future leaders – providing them with the networks, support, and inspiration to grow. I’m excited to contribute to this important work and help shape the next phase of its development.”
