Carey Olsen has advised Schroders Capital, the US$99.3 billion private markets business of Schroders, on the acquisition and financing of luxury five-star hotel W Edinburgh.
Acquired from Nuveen Real Estate, W Edinburgh opened in November 2023 and is Marriott International’s first luxury property in the city. The 244-room hotel is situated the heart of St James Quarter, a newly developed area of Edinburgh which has become a key part of the city’s luxury hospitality offering.
The Carey Olsen Jersey corporate team advising Schroders Capital on the transaction comprised partner James Mulholland, counsel Thomas MacAdie, associate Marco Carossa, and trainee Rory Pridmore.
