PwC has recruited Dan Usher to a new role of Chief Operating Officer for the Channel Islands’ firm.
An accomplished business leader and finance professional with almost 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry, Dan (pictured) has worked for global leaders across various sectors including, investment banking, fund and trust administration, fiduciary and banking. He will have responsibility for the development of the Business Enablement function and for ensuring that the operational excellence of the firm is maintained and continues to evolve.
This COO role has been created to reflect the increasing size of the firm and takes into account further growth and its vision for the future, with Business Enablement being a key strategic enabler in support of that growth. Dan has a crucial role in improving the way business operations work together, so it is fit for the future, supportive of both the firm’s strategy and in delivering high quality services in the most technology-enabled and cost-efficient manner.
Dan, who graduated from Nottingham University in 1995 with a BA Hons History, is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), having originally trained with PwC in London before joining JP Morgan in the City. Most recently, Dan held the position of Managing Director at Northern Trust in Guernsey, before taking up the position of COO at PwC last Autumn.
Commenting on this latest senior appointment at the firm, PwC CI Senior Partner, Nick Vermeulen, said: “We’re delighted to welcome Dan back to the PwC Network where he first trained in the ‘90s. There is no doubt that Dan’s energy, enthusiasm and experience in leadership roles across various sectors in the financial services industry make him ideally placed to drive operational excellence and accountability for performance within our local firm.
“An accomplished business leader of high calibre with a proven track record of success, his skills and experience will be harnessed to ensure our operational excellence, which in turn will be pivotal in driving our growth strategy.”
